Major Altaf Hussain (retd)

Major (R) Altaf Hussain has been serving as the Zonal Director of Gilgit Baltistan of The Serenity Family since 2018. Gilgit Baltistan, the fifth province of Pakistan, is located in the northern region of the country and is internationally admired for its unmatched scenic beauty. This remarkable land is where the world’s three greatest mountain ranges — Karakoram, Himalayas, and Hindu Kush — converge. The region hosts five of the world’s fifteen highest peaks and more than 108 peaks rising above 7,000 meters, making it one of the most extraordinary landscapes on earth.

A respected and charismatic personality of this “Heaven on Earth,” Major (R) Altaf Hussain holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and honorably served 27 years in the Pakistan Army, reflecting exemplary leadership, discipline, and commitment to service.

Since joining The Serenity Family in 2018, he has conducted hundreds of TSF welfare projects across slum areas and less privileged regions of Gilgit Baltistan, including cash distribution among the needy and continuous support for underprivileged communities.

His major initiative is the “TSF Hifz-o-Qur’an” Program, being actively implemented under the Roshan Afia Education Project, where 58 students—preferably orphans—are currently enrolled. This unique and holistic program provides Hifz-ul-Qur’an along with conventional education and Qur’anic Tafseer from Grade 1 to Grade 10. Under his leadership, The Serenity Family takes full responsibility for the students’ needs, including uniforms, stationery, textbooks, and notebooks, ensuring a secure and dignified educational environment.

In parallel, he is actively leading the “TSF Free Food Mobile Service”, serving meals regularly to slum dwellers and less privileged populations across Gilgit Baltistan.

He is also the Founder of “Roshan Afia Home”, the first orphan house in Gilgit Baltistan, established at Golodas Village near Gilgit City under the banner of The Serenity Family. His exemplary administration and management of Roshan Afia Home stand as a benchmark for TSF nationwide.

He also actively conducts Roshan Afia Rehabilitation Projects, through which The Serenity Family reconstructs houses for orphan and widow families, restoring dignity, safety, and hope.

Looking ahead, Maj (R) Altaf Hussain envisions the expansion of Roshan Afia Home and the launch of free ambulance services with complete medical facilities, under the umbrella of The Serenity Family, to further strengthen social welfare and healthcare support in Gilgit Baltistan.
